Mirrors, prisms, and lenses have been around for hundreds of years, the makings of telescopes, binoculars , and microscopes.
In 1917, Dr. Frederick Kollmorgen invented the submarine periscope incorporating these components, founding the company of his name, the company for which I performed lens and optical system design for many years. The work is the basis for this web site.
